Getting started with OVIT Cloud
After ordering you receive a welcome email with the username and password for your control panel. If you cannot find it, let us know and we will resend the details.
Step 1: Open the control panel
Your control panel is at web.ovit.cloud. Log in with the username and password from the welcome email, or click Log in to the control panel on the hosting service in the client area. That is where you manage your website, email accounts, databases and DNS.
You read your email at mail.ovit.cloud.
Step 2: Publish your website
To use WordPress, choose Manage Web Apps, the Available Web Apps tab and WordPress. If you have your own files, choose File Manager and upload them to the public_html folder. Delete our "coming soon" page (index.html) when your own site is ready.
The file manager in the control panel handles both single files and zip archives.
Step 3: Point your domain here
If you bought the domain together with the hosting, this is already done. Otherwise, set the name servers at your registrar to ns1.ovit.cloud and ns2.ovit.cloud (recommended). You then manage the DNS records yourself in the control panel under DNS Settings → DNS Records.
To keep your DNS where it is, set an A record for @ and www to 136.148.132.11. If your email should be hosted with us too, you also need MX, SPF and DKIM. See Getting started with your web hosting.
DNS changes can take up to a day to take effect everywhere.
Step 4: SSL
We issue and renew SSL certificates automatically once the domain points here. You don't need to do anything.
